CARLY LOVES AMOS

Where they started: Carly started the biz in 2008 after leaving her job as a graphic designer. She gradually phased out of her career in order to go into full-time photography, starting initially with portraits. Amos started shooting with her in 2009 as they began to take on more wedding clients.

Where they were: They have a business they’re passionate about but, after taking a look at their last year, realized it was leaving very little room for them to actually have a life.

Problem with where they were: They were entirely too busy and didn’t find themselves working on enough projects with their ideal client.

Goal:

  • They wanted to focus their message, target a specific client and learn to say no to opportunities that didn’t help them reach the goals they set for their business (and life).
  • They want to build a business that allows Amos to come on full-time.
  • They wanted to have a business that didn’t run their lives so they could spend more time ENJOYING life … not working to death.

How we got them there: We helped them focus their message to speak directly to their ideal client: crazy fun clients who aren’t afraid of adventure and love to make out. Then we created a plan of attack for saying no to clients who didn’t fit within their goal and yes to clients who did. We created a strategy to help Carly and Amos schedule and launch their new brand (with intention and excellence). We were fortunate enough to be able to spend some quality time with these two during a trip they made to SoCal. It was so great to slumber party with them and really get to know who they are. It made writing the web copy so much easier and conveying their personalities a breeze once we hit the web stage!

Their new look:  Carly and Amos have incredibly dynamic personalities that were previously missing from their old brand. I mean, two seconds with these two and you’re already sucked into their world of fun. We wanted to bring who they are to the forefront and make it a more interactive experience for their clients. We decided to explore this option most with their home, YOU, US and blog pages.

These two are memorable for their personal style and playful personalities. We chose to run with a more magazine feel on their homepage and use their website as a filter for ideal clients by putting a TOP 10 series in place of the about page. This was such a fun way to incorporate more of who they are and what makes them tick without being confined to a traditional layout. The YOU page is a great way for them to explain what they’re looking for in a client without being snobby or rude. Finally, their blog is forward thinking and modern, which will certainly weed out individuals who don’t see that value as a priority.
