Your role at B!G DEAL BRANDING?
I’m the “Crazy about Strategy & Communication” one of the group. I help identify what makes our clients unique and help them confidently own who they are. Together we create a strategy for their business that’ll actually yield results.
Born and raised?
Derby, Kansas.
How do you like your coffee? Black, Cream, Cream AND Sugar?
Half & Half and some brown sugar. Does that count as coffee?
Pop Tarts or cereal?
Cereal.
Did you always want to be a brand strategist?
Are you kidding? This wasn’t even a job option when I was in undergrad. I can tell you I’ve always been passionate about consistency, owning who you are and helping talented people build a platform. I’m so glad branding became more mainstream so I could have a career I love!
You traveled a lot for your last job, what was your favorite place to do business? Why?
Oh man, there’s nothing better than traveling on your company’s dime! Hands down … India. Freaking love that country. The people are so kind, the colors are incredibly vibrant and the hunger for innovation is contagious.
You’ve said over and over that you think business can change the world. Why do you believe that?
I think everyone who is passionate about something thinks that thing is what’s going to change the world. At least, I hope they feel that way. After a trip to Honduras where we worked with a village on gaining financial independence through small businesses, I saw the transformation it can have on people around the world. It became even more obvious that business is a tool to grant freedom and equality to people everywhere.
What’s the sexiest thing about your husband?
Oh-Em-Gee. Everything. His cooking, his dark skin and suave hair, his ridiculous talent as an artist and business man, his quiet confidence, his nerdiness for tech gadgets, his passion for taking risks, the way he looks in a suit … I want to kiss his face.
Where is your favorite place to go on a date?
Mastros when we’re ballers. Pete’s in downtown L.A. for dinner. Nick’s Diner in West L.A. for breakfast. The hotdog stand at Home Depot. And NYC. We like date weekends in NYC.
What is it about the water that you HATE so much?
Fish. They freak me out. And I don’t like not being able to see what’s underneath me.
First job?
Dairy Queen!
What was your dream job when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a singer and a CEO. I was a weird kid.
When you decided to leave Kansas, why did you choose L.A.?
I craved the city like I crave cupcakes. It was either NYC or L.A. and I didn’t have any leads in the Big Apple. I’ve gotta say, I grown to LOVE this city. So glad I moved here!
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
Emma Stone. I’d like to think I’m that witty and I secretly want her deep raspy voice. If she isn’t available, I’ll take Rachael McAdams … she’d make me seem so much more feminine and fun. If SHE isn’t available, Zooey Deschanel.
If you were a type of food, what type of food would you be?
No clue. I’ll tell you what type of food I want to eat all day long: junk. Chips and salsa, cupcakes, donuts, pizza. Does that count?
